Twenty short drama apps are on the US App Store, and the ones with the most ratings are DramaBox, GoodShort, ReelShort, NetShort, DramaWave and ShortMax. TotalShort, listed first, is not on the App Store yet: the iPhone version is coming soon, and today it is Android only. The App Store apps below are ordered by number of US ratings, read October 2, 6 and 15, 2026.

Short drama apps for iPhone

1. TotalShort (our app): coming soon to iPhone

You can't install TotalShort on an iPhone today, and it doesn't play in a web browser either, so there is no workaround. It is live on Google Play for Android (listing read October 15, 2026). On Android the deal is six Italian short drama series made with AI and labeled "AI series", the first 8 episodes of every series free, then 1 free episode a day per series. On the App Store, weekly VIP is set at $5.99 for the iPhone launch.

Limits worth knowing now: six series, no real actors, Italian audio with subtitles in 13 languages, and no ratings yet.

Best for: iPhone owners who want Italian-set dramas and can wait for the launch. TotalShort review

2. DramaBox

DramaBox has the most US App Store ratings of any app we track: 4.8 from 867K (October 2, 2026). It is rated 18+ on the US storefront and 17+ on the Italian one. The listing shows Membership at $5.99, $17.99 and $19.99 and special offers from $4.99, and says the Membership renews unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the period ends. It doesn't print the period next to each price, so read it on Apple's payment sheet.

Best for: adults who want the largest-rated catalog on iPhone. DramaBox review

3. GoodShort

GoodShort holds 4.9 from 527K US ratings and is rated 13+ (October 2, 2026). The listing shows a 178.9 MB download that needs iOS 13 or later, which makes it a candidate for an older iPhone. Weekly VIP is listed at $5.99, $9.99 and $19.99, and coin packs run from 500 coins for $4.99 to 2,500 for $24.99. Italian isn't among its 14 interface languages. On goodshort.com, 9 episodes of the series we opened were free on October 6, 2026.

Best for: older iPhones and a low listed weekly price. GoodShort review

4. ReelShort

ReelShort has 4.7 from 504K US ratings, a 13+ rating and 22 interface languages (October 2, 2026). It sells one subscription at $19.99, described as "valid for 7 days" and billed weekly, plus one-time purchases from $4.99 to $29.99. Apple's privacy label says it uses identifiers to track you across other companies' apps and websites, which you can decline when iOS asks. Its website also plays episodes, 13 free on the series we opened on October 6, 2026.

Best for: a large catalog with an interactive-story option. ReelShort review

5. NetShort

NetShort holds 4.7 from 214K US ratings and is rated 13+; the version we read was 2.3.3, released September 26, 2026. Its free tier includes ads, and VIP, listed weekly at $19.99, $24.99 and $29.99, adds ad-free viewing where available and offline downloads for supported content. One-time purchases run from $6.99 to $19.99. Its user agreement says the service is not for users under 18, despite the 13+ label.

Best for: iPhone users who'll accept ads to watch for free. NetShort review

6. DramaWave

DramaWave has 4.9 from 180K US ratings, a 13+ rating and 25 interface languages, the most in our comparison dataset (October 2, 2026). Weekly VIP starts at $7.99, with $9.99 and $19.99 tiers, and a monthly VIP at $36.99. Its terms, effective June 25, 2026, say under-18s need a parent's consent, stricter than the App Store label. Four weeks at the cheapest weekly price come to $31.96, and the monthly plan is a little more.

Best for: families who share an iPhone across languages. DramaWave review

7. ShortMax

ShortMax holds 4.6 from 177K US ratings and is rated 18+ (October 2, 2026). It claims more than 50,000 titles in 19 languages, and promises multilingual subtitles and professional dubbing.

Plans are a Weekly Membership at $12.99 or $19.99 and a Monthly Membership at $39.99, which costs less than two weeks of the higher weekly plan. How we picked

Every app here was verified on the US App Store, listing by listing, on October 2, 6 or 15, 2026. Apps that exist only on Android are left out; TotalShort is included at #1 because it is ours, and marked as coming soon. The rest are ordered by US rating count. The method is on how we rate, and Android owners should see our Android list. The full ranking is on the home page.

Frequently asked questions

Is TotalShort available on iPhone?

Not yet. TotalShort is coming soon to the App Store but is Android only today, on Google Play. It doesn't play in a web browser, so there's no way to watch it on an iPhone right now. On Android today, the first 8 episodes of every series are free, then 1 a day per series. On the App Store, weekly VIP is set at $5.99 for the iPhone launch.

By US App Store ratings, DramaBox, with 867K ratings at 4.8 (read October 2, 2026), followed by GoodShort at 527K and ReelShort at 504K. Rating counts measure how many people rated an app, not whether the series suit you, so watch the free episodes before paying. Our ReelShort vs DramaBox page compares the top two.

Which iPhone short drama app is free?

All twenty are free to download, but almost all charge to finish a series. PineDrama's US App Store listing shows no in-app purchases at all, and CandyJar gives one free episode every 24 hours. Our free short drama apps page lists what each one gives away, app by app, with dates.

How do I cancel a short drama subscription on iPhone?

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, pick the app and tap Cancel Subscription. Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything. Plans bought on a website, such as Shortical's or ReelShort's web plans, aren't in that list. Apple's steps are on its cancel a subscription page, and refunds go through Apple's refund page.

Can I stop a teenager buying coins on an iPhone?

Yes. In Settings > Screen Time > Apps & Websites > App Store, set In-app Purchases to Blocked. With Family Sharing, Ask to Buy sends every purchase request to you. Check age ratings too: they range from 13+ (GoodShort, ReelShort, NetShort, DramaWave, StardustTV) to 18+ (DramaBox, ShortMax, StoryReel, VibeShort). Our safety guide has more.

Are App Store prices the same as on Android?

Not necessarily. PineDrama is the clearest case: no purchases on its App Store listing, items up to $199.99 on Google Play (both read October 6, 2026). Prices also change by country and over time, so the figure on Apple's payment sheet is the one that counts. Compare an app on the store you'll actually use, never on the other one.
