TotalShort is our app. Agape Group GmbH publishes it on Google Play and also runs this site, which is why TotalShort sits at the top of our ranking with an "Our app" label. This review is written by its maker, so we've kept it to facts from the Google Play listing (read October 15, 2026) and from totalshort.com, and we spell out the limits as clearly as the strengths.
What TotalShort is
TotalShort, listed on Google Play as "TotalShort: Short Drama Series", is an app of Italian short drama series for your phone. Episodes are vertical and about a minute long, and the stories run on romance, revenge and second chances. The listing is in the Entertainment category, rated Teen, marked as offering in-app purchases and labeled as using AI. It was last updated on October 14, 2026.
You don't need an account to start. The app opens with you as a guest, so you can watch the free episodes without handing over an email.

The six series
Every series is set somewhere specific in Italy, and that setting does a lot of the work. Here is what each one is about.
The Heiress in an Apron
A woman working in a hotel uniform on Lake Como is hiding the fact that she is an heiress. It's a hidden-identity story, the kind where the audience knows more than the people around her, and the lake hotel gives it its glossy backdrop.
My Contract Wife
A fake engagement in Ortigia, the old island center of Syracuse in Sicily. Two people agree to play a couple for practical reasons, and the series runs on the gap between the arrangement and what they start to feel.
If I Could Do It All Again
A designer in Milan is betrayed and gets sent back ten years. It's a second-chance story: she knows what is coming and gets a chance to choose differently, with Milan as the setting.
The Ex-Wife
A wife is pushed out of her own farmhouse in Puglia. It's a revenge and reclaiming story rooted in a rural southern setting, about who the house and the life in it really belong to.
The Billion-Dollar Son-in-Law
A son-in-law is treated like a servant by the family he married into, yet he is the one who secretly saved their estate. It's the classic underdog reversal: the person everyone looks down on holds the card nobody knows about.
The Bride of Etna
A woman takes her sister's place at the altar, beneath Mount Etna in Sicily. A wedding swap between sisters is the hook, with the volcano looming over the ceremony.
How free episodes work
Two rules cover it:
- The first 8 episodes of every series are free. That holds for all six series, so you can sample every story before you meet a paywall.
- After that, you get 1 free episode a day per series. The allowance is per series, so if you're following three of them, you can unlock one free episode of each every day.
If you're happy to wait, you can finish every series without paying. If you'd rather not wait, coins or VIP unlock the rest. Compare this with other apps' free allowances on our comparison page.
Coins and VIP
Coins
An episode costs 30 coins, which is €0.30. Coins never expire, and nothing unlocks without your confirmation: the app asks before it spends anything.
Example, in euro. Take a 12-episode series. Episodes 1 to 8 are free, which leaves 4 to unlock: 4 × 30 coins = 120 coins, or €1.20. Waiting for the daily free episode instead brings that to zero, over four days.
VIP
VIP unlocks the whole catalogue. On Google Play it costs €5.99 a week or €59.99 a year, renews automatically, and is billed by Google Play. The listing states there are no free trials that turn into charges.
For US viewers: we haven't confirmed the Google Play price in US dollars, so we don't quote one. On the App Store, the weekly VIP is set at $5.99 for the iPhone launch, but the iPhone app isn't out yet. Prices vary by country, and the Google Play payment screen shows the amount you'll actually pay. For how coin systems compare across apps, see our guide to coins.
How AI is used and labeled
Every TotalShort series is made with AI, and every one carries an "AI series" label so you know before you press play. There are no real actors. The Google Play listing is also labeled as AI.
We think that label matters. Some apps in this market mention AI only in their terms, or describe AI content without saying which titles use it. If AI-made drama isn't for you, the label lets you skip TotalShort quickly; if you're curious about it, our AI short drama apps list and our VibeShort review cover others.
If something in a series seems wrong or inappropriate, you can report it from the player.
Languages and subtitles
The audio is Italian, and subtitles are available in 13 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German and Polish. Some series also have English audio. If you don't want to read subtitles at all, check which series offer English audio before you commit.
How to download TotalShort
- Android: available now. Get TotalShort on Google Play, or search for TotalShort in the Play Store.
- iPhone: iPhone version coming soon. It isn't on the App Store yet.
- Web browser: TotalShort doesn't play in a browser. The website, totalshort.com, has information about the series, but you watch in the app.
How to cancel VIP
VIP is billed by Google Play, so you cancel it there. Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything.
- Open Google Play on your Android phone.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions.
- Tap Subscriptions, choose TotalShort, then Cancel subscription.
Google's official instructions are at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481. Our cancellation guide covers the same steps for other apps.
Honest limits
These are the reasons TotalShort might not be for you, and we'd rather you know them now:
- Small catalogue. Six series. Bigger apps offer far more.
- AI-made. Every series is made with AI, with no real actors.
- Italian first. The settings are Italian and the default audio is Italian with subtitles, with English audio on only some series.
- Android only for now. No iPhone version yet, and no browser playback.
- Brand new. There are no public ratings yet, so you can't lean on other viewers' reviews.
How we handle the conflict of interest in ranking our own app is explained on how we rate and about us.
Frequently asked questions
Is TotalShort free?
Partly, and generously for a small app. The first 8 episodes of every series are free, and after that you get 1 free episode a day per series. With six series, that's 48 episodes before any paywall. If you're patient, you can finish every series without paying. Coins (30 per episode, €0.30) or VIP (€5.99 a week or €59.99 a year) unlock episodes immediately instead.
Is TotalShort on iPhone?
Not yet. The iPhone version is coming soon to the App Store but isn't available today, so any page claiming you can download it there is wrong. TotalShort is available now on Android through Google Play. It also doesn't play in a web browser, so for the moment an Android phone is the only way to watch.
Who makes TotalShort?
Agape Group GmbH, which is named as the publisher on the Google Play listing. Agape Group also runs this comparison site, which is why TotalShort is labeled "Our app" wherever it appears here and why this review is written by its maker. We stick to facts from the store listing and totalshort.com, and list the app's limits alongside its strengths.
Is TotalShort made with AI?
Yes. Every series is made with AI and carries an "AI series" label, and the Google Play listing is labeled as AI too. There are no real actors. If you'd rather watch dramas with real casts, TotalShort isn't the right app, and our ranking lists other options. If anything in a series looks wrong, you can report it from the player.
Is TotalShort in English?
The audio is Italian by default, with subtitles in 13 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German and Polish. Some series also have English audio, so English speakers can choose those if they'd rather not read subtitles. The stories themselves are set in Italy: Lake Como, Ortigia, Milan, Puglia and the slopes of Mount Etna, among others.
Do I need an account to watch?
No. You start as a guest, without signing up, and can watch the free episodes straight away: the first 8 of every series, then 1 a day per series. If you buy coins or VIP, payment goes through Google Play. Nothing unlocks without your confirmation, so the app won't spend coins in the background.
Do TotalShort coins expire?
No. Coins never expire, so coins you buy today will still be there months from now, whether or not you use them. Each episode costs 30 coins (€0.30), and you confirm every unlock. Finishing a 12-episode series after its 8 free episodes costs 120 coins (€1.20), or nothing if you wait for the daily free episodes.
How do I cancel TotalShort VIP?
On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose TotalShort and tap Cancel subscription. VIP renews automatically until you do. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it. There are no free trials that turn into charges, so the price you agree to is the price you're billed.
