The facts about FlickReels below come from its US App Store listing, its user agreement and its website, each dated.

The short verdict

FlickReels is an established, legitimate app with the largest US rating count among the five newer apps we review in this group. It sits between two worlds: regular vertical short dramas and AI-powered content, including a tool to create your own story with AI.

The pricing is straightforward once you see it laid out. The monthly membership beats the weekly one for anyone watching longer than a couple of weeks, and the website lets you try about ten episodes of a series before you decide anything.

What is FlickReels and who makes it

FlickReels is a vertical short drama app: phone-sized series in short episodes that end on cliffhangers. The genres are familiar ones, CEO romance, werewolves, revenge and family drama, and the website on October 6, 2026 featured plenty of mafia bosses and alphas. New to the format? Our page on what a short drama is explains it.

Is FlickReels AI?

In part, by its own description. The App Store listing says FlickReels brings together popular vertical short dramas, original stories and AI-powered innovative content, that AI technology creates a unique visual style, and it advertises AI Co-Creation for crafting your own story. The store name itself is "FlickReels - AI Story & Drama". What the listing does not do is say which series are AI-made. For a given title, we can't tell you. See our AI short drama apps list for others in this group.

How much FlickReels costs

US App Store prices

Item on the listing US price
Weekly Membership $12.99, $19.99 (the $19.99 entry appears more than once)
Monthly Membership $39.99
Coin packs $4.99, $9.99, $19.99

Read on October 6, 2026. The listing says memberships renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. It doesn't say who is offered which weekly price.

Example: three weeks at the lower weekly price

Plain arithmetic, assuming you're offered the $12.99 weekly membership and keep it three weeks: 3 × $12.99 = $38.97. That's almost exactly the $39.99 monthly membership, which covers a full month. At the $19.99 weekly price, two weeks ($39.98) already match it. Prices vary by country and over time, and the payment sheet is what counts. More on coin pricing in our coins guide.

What's free

Downloading is free, and so is the beginning of each series.

Free episodes in the browser

The website, flickreels.net, plays episodes in a browser. On October 6, 2026, the series we checked played episodes 1 to 10 there; further on, the page told us we needed to download the app to watch. The website doesn't sell memberships. Our page on watching short dramas online compares browser options across apps.

Points, coins and what can happen to them

The user agreement says points earned from activities, purchased coins and memberships can only be used inside FlickReels, can't be exchanged for money or transferred, and that the company may manage, adjust, modify or clear virtual currency at any time. If you close your account, unused benefits are forfeited and not refunded.

Unofficial versions

"FlickReels free APK" files and reuploads outside the official channels are not FlickReels. They infringe the creators' rights and are a common route to malware. Our list of free short drama apps covers legal routes.

Is it legit and safe

Yes. FlickReels has a named company, a public user agreement and privacy policy, official channels listed on the App Store (YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and its website), and 105,513 ratings in the US, more than Shortical, CandyJar, StoryReel or VibeShort in our dataset. Payments run through Apple or Google.

Points to watch:

  • Weekly versus monthly. Four weeks of the $19.99 weekly membership cost $79.96, about twice the monthly plan.
  • Virtual currency rules. The company reserves the right to adjust or clear it.
  • Account closure. Closing your account forfeits unused coins and doesn't cancel a store subscription.
  • Teen use. Allowed from 13 with a parent's consent, so parents should know the catalogue includes romance and mafia themes.

How to cancel FlickReels

Memberships bought in the app are billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel them there. Deleting the app, or closing your FlickReels account, does not stop the membership.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Pick the app, then Cancel Subscription.

Apple: Cancel a subscription from Apple

Android

  1. Open Google Play and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Pick the app, then Cancel subscription.

Google: Cancel a subscription on Google Play

Deleting the app does not cancel anything. If you paid on the app's website, cancel on that website.

Official steps: Apple at support.apple.com/en-us/118428, Google at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481. Turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Contact details

FlickReels doesn't publish a phone number. Its website lists support@flickreels.net for users and a separate address for business enquiries. You don't need to contact them to cancel.

Refunds

App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded, if at all, by the store: Apple's process is at support.apple.com/en-us/118223, and Google handles requests through your order history. Cancel first so the next renewal doesn't charge you while you wait. Our cancellation guide covers other apps.

Who it suits

FlickReels is a good fit if:

  • You want a large catalogue that mixes regular dramas with AI content.
  • You're curious about creating your own story with AI Co-Creation.
  • You'll watch for a month or more and pick the monthly membership.

It's a weaker fit if you want to know for sure whether a series is AI-made, if you want phone support, or if you prefer virtual currency the provider can't change.

FlickReels vs TotalShort

TotalShort is ours, so this is a maker's comparison. Like FlickReels, TotalShort is an AI app: every one of its six series is made with AI. The difference is labeling. TotalShort puts an "AI series" label on every series, while FlickReels describes AI content in general without marking which titles use it.

On access, FlickReels plays its opening episodes in a web browser and TotalShort doesn't play in a browser at all. TotalShort is on Google Play for Android now; the iPhone version is coming soon to the App Store and isn't available yet. FlickReels is already on both stores.

Other differences:

  • TotalShort gives the first 8 episodes of every series free, plus 1 free episode a day per series.
  • TotalShort's coins never expire, and nothing unlocks without your confirmation.
  • TotalShort VIP is €5.99 a week or €59.99 a year, billed by Google Play, with no free trials that turn into charges. There's no monthly option.
  • TotalShort's stories are Italian: Lake Como, Ortigia, Milan, Puglia and Mount Etna, with Italian audio and subtitles in 13 languages.

Our limits, plainly: six series against FlickReels' large library, AI-made with no real actors, Italian audio as the default, Android only for now, and no public rating yet. Read the TotalShort review or see VibeShort, which is fully built around AI dramas.

Frequently asked questions

Is FlickReels AI-generated?

Partly, by its own account. The US App Store listing says FlickReels combines popular vertical dramas, original stories and AI-powered innovative content, uses AI technology for its visual style, and offers AI Co-Creation so you can build a story with AI. It doesn't identify which series are AI-made, so for a specific title, check the series page or ask support@flickreels.net.

How much is a FlickReels membership?

The US App Store listing, read October 6, 2026, shows a Weekly Membership at $12.99 and $19.99, a Monthly Membership at $39.99, and coin packs at $4.99, $9.99 and $19.99. Memberships renew automatically. Two weeks at $19.99 cost about the same as a month on the monthly plan, so if you'll watch longer than that, monthly is the cheaper choice. Prices vary by country and change over time.

Is FlickReels free?

Partly. The download is free, the first episodes of each series are free, and the website played episodes 1 to 10 of the series we checked before asking us to download the app. After that you need coins or a membership. Points from in-app activities can also help, but they can only be used inside FlickReels and can't be cashed out.

How do I cancel FlickReels?

On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, FlickReels, Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play, profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, FlickReels, Cancel subscription. Turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app or closing your FlickReels account doesn't cancel the store subscription, and closing the account also forfeits any unused coins.

Can teenagers use FlickReels?

From 13, with permission. The App Store rates FlickReels 13+, and the user agreement says children under 13 may not use it, while users aged 13 to 17 need a parent's or guardian's consent. The catalogue includes romance, revenge and mafia stories. Google explains Play Store parental controls at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1626831; iPhone users can use Screen Time.

Does FlickReels have a phone number?

No phone number is published. The website lists support@flickreels.net for users. You don't need to contact FlickReels to cancel: memberships bought in the app are managed by Apple or Google, and you can cancel in your phone's settings. Use the email for problems with coins, unlocks or your account, and keep your store receipt handy when you write.

Can I watch FlickReels on a computer?

Partly. The website flickreels.net plays the first episodes of each series in a browser; on the series we checked on October 6, 2026, that was episodes 1 to 10. Beyond that, the site says you need the app. The website doesn't sell memberships, so the rest of a series is only available on iPhone or Android.
